Occasionally we'll publish a rabbit petting chart, showing areas of the body where the average rabbit does--or doesn't--like for you to pet him. But, did you know that petting charts exist for all sorts of other animals? Here's a helpful one published by the National Park Service. The next time you visit one of our national parks, be sure to print this chart out, in case you encounter one of these majestic beasts, so you'll know where it's safe to pet one!! 🤣

Oh poop! 🐰💩
If you haven't yet, at some point you will find yourself examining your bunny's poop to determine if he has, or has recovered from, a health problem. This article can help you understand what to look for.
Beau and Bliss are fixin' to explain to da hoomin that they expect meals and pets ON TIME from now on. 😆
They are currently living the bun life in their new foster-to-adopt home.
Pebbles and Bam Bam have moved to a new foster home tonight. The new foster family seems to be pretty excited--and who wouldn't be! It's Pebbles and Bam Bam! 😀
We have to give a very big THANK YOU to our volunteer, Tracy, who helped facilitate the move. We couldn't have gotten it done without you. 🥰
The House Rabbit Society has updated their webpage and handout on Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV). They've added information with more biosecurity measures to help you keep your rabbit safe.

Just a pair of adorable bunnies chilling out for you to relax with on a Sunday evening!

We're looking for new, short-term, foster homes for Rose, Pebbles & Bam Bam, Oreo & Thomas, and Jake & Josephine. Although we've received inquiries for most of them, none have panned out yet (although we aren't done with them all).
Rose, and Pebbles & Bam Bam's current foster families are going on vacation, so there won't be anyone to care for the buns. The others are ready to move on from fostering.
If anyone can help out for a few months, it would be greatly appreciated. We're still getting inquiries, and we should be able to get them out of your homes soon, but as most of you know, we aren't going to simply place bunnies with someone who "wants a rabbit." We're going to talk to them and screen them.
In today's edition of #ThingsYouShouldNeverFeedARabbit we present this horrible idea. Not only does it have a picture of a cute rabbit at the top, it says, "Irresistible Treat for Rabbits...." It also says "Loaded with EXTREMELY GREAT fruits, nuts, seeds, and veggies!"
The only marketing claim missing is that it is almost guaranteed to give your rabbit digestive system problems.... 🤬
Beau and Bliss hopped to a new foster home Monday evening. Tonight, we did a 48-hour follow-up on them, and it sounds like everything is going well! We hope we'll be able to thump the news about their adoption next month--let's see what happens!
Before the day is over, we have to say hoppy birthday to Ursula's 6 babies! They are all 1 year old today!
One has been adopted and has a husbun, and three others are in foster-to-adopt homes. We can't wait for the last two to find that furever home they deserve!
We must give a special thank-you to everyone who helped make it all possible--from donors to fosters to adopters...we can't do ANY of it without you. <3
Sophie and Skimble are an older couple who are just looking for a loving home where they can live out their lives in hoppiness, where they can find safety and love.

Thump! Run! Hide! Thump again! Run more!
Consider putting a tunnel, hidey box, or carrier out for your bunnies to shelter in once the loud scary noises start. Cover it with blankets or towels to help dampen out the noise.
Pebbles and Bam Bam want to remind you that setting a domesticated pet loose when you don't want it any more isn't "freedom" for that animal--it's a death sentence, so please don't!
They also want you to know that they're still available for adoption! Just in case you forgot or something....

Although many cities, counties, and organizations are cancelling annual Independence Day fireworks shows, a lot of individuals will continue with their own private fireworks extravaganzas--and some of them might think it's their job to make up for the lack of official events!
Remember, sudden loud noises are scary to most of our pets, not just bunnies. Try to help provide your little ones a quiet place where they can feel safe!
Here's an article on Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) from the magazine The Cut.
*Please* keep your bunnies inside. Currently, only states with confirmed cases are authorizing importation of the vaccine, so if you live in a state with a current RHDV outbreak, ask your veterinarian about the RHDV vaccine.

A mysterious, highly infectious virus is causing house rabbits throughout the U.S. to suddenly drop dead.
It's that time of year again.... protect your bunnies
(Yes, we know it says "Nov. 5." It was written for an audience in England for Guy Fawkes Day, but it's equally applicable to our Independence Day.)
This flyer has some of the body language basics when bonding bunnies; however, we always recommend the House Rabbit Society’s Bonding Guide, Double Your Bun, which has much more in-depth, very important, detailed information, especially if you’re attempting to bond the bunnies by yourself (without a Licensed House Rabbit Society Educator’s assistance). The “Double Your Bun” PDF document is available via the HRS’ website at: https://rabbit.org/articles/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Bonding-Bunnies-PPforrabbit.org_.pdf
The USDA has put together an interactive map of known RHVD2 (RHDV2, Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease) so you can keep an eye on it.
The known locations of domestic rabbit infections is distressing.... :'(

Willow has gone missing in the Temple Terrace area, near North 50th Street and USF Elm Drive. https://osm.org/go/ZDd8ag90-?m=
She either escaped or was abducted from a screened porch (due to the particulars of the damage, it's hard to say which). She is a shy, nonaggressive rabbit, but responds well to veggies & fruits. She is microchipped, registered with AVID, and has a tattoo in her left ear. She was recently spayed.
Asking for special attention from people in the east USF / Sunridge / Malibu Apartments area!
REWARD AVAILABLE IF RETURNED DIRECTLY TO OWNER
If you think you've seen Willow, please contact her very worried human at (305) 896-7400, or message us here.

We at TBHRR are grateful beyond words for the men and women who served in uniform for over 243 years to give us the *freedom to choose* to help rabbits in need of homes. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Veterans Day!

Beau and Bliss are still looking for a furever home...where they can fuzz you up!
Beau believes that all human problems (disease, poverty, war, missing socks) can be solved with an adequate amount of rabbit fur--and he believes that it's his responsibility to provide it!
Bliss thinks that it's her job to look adorable, and she's very good at it....

By Angela DeRisoA Rabbit Rescued At The Right TimeI took Lily in during August of 2015, after I found her running loose in the subdivision I lived in. Just by her coloring alone, you can tell she wasn't a wild rabbit. A white body with dark gray Siamese points does not make for good camouflage. […]
So you bought an Easter bunny…It seemed like a great idea at the time. After all, what’s more cute than a fuzzy little baby bunny? This innocent creature seemed like an easy, adorable starter pet, right? Now, that cute little ball of fluff has grown up. He’s turning into a hormonal teenage brat, being disrespectful, […]
So you all may have seen Petco's holiday ad for small animals and "starter kits" before it was pulled from the air. Thanks to a public outcry and a petition signed by many concerned small pet parents, Petco made the right decision to take the ad off the air. What if you purchased one of these […]
